Problem
The Helium Hotspot lets users own and operate a wireless network for low-power Internet of Things (IoT) devices. With hundreds of square miles of connectivity, these wireless access points (WAP) can transmit data at a fraction of the cost of a cellular network. Most hotspots come with one or more external antenna ports, and the Helium Hotspot is no exception. LoRaWan, a low-power, wide-area networking (WAN) protocol, is used because of its long-range, bi-directional communication with very low power consumption.
